Videography

With over many years of experience in the photographic and videography industry, Peter brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to every project. His versatility shines through his mastery of a variety of cameras, from professional video cameras like the Panasonic AGCX350 and Canon XF605 to DSLR and mirrorless cameras.
In addition to professional video cameras, Peter also harnesses the power of action cameras in locations where larger cameras would be impractical or risky, such as on board with motor racing. These compact and effective cameras capture moments that would otherwise be missed, adding a dynamic perspective to the footage. Furthermore, 360 cameras are utilized to capture immersive imagery, allowing for flexible framing during editing and ensuring that no action is overlooked.
Editing plays a crucial role in bringing the final story to life. Peter’s skills in editing go beyond just compiling video footage; they encompass the integration of still images and graphics to enhance the narrative and create a compelling visual experience. The result is a seamless and impactful final product that tells a captivating story.
No One Mops Alone is a short film that highlights the teamwork and resilience of the DefenceLife staff responsible for maintaining the RAAF Amberley Combined Mess Decks. The film explores the challenges faced when a single person was tasked with mopping the entire facility, a process that proved inefficient and difficult to sustain. Through collaboration and problem-solving, the team developed a new approach, working in groups of six to complete the task more effectively. This not only improved cleaning standards but also boosted morale and fostered a stronger sense of teamwork. I independently researched the story, wrote the script, conducted all videography and completed the post-production editing in DaVinci Resolve. I used 3D Studio Max for 3D modelling and animation. Filming was undertaken using a Canon XF605, DJI Pocket 3 and GoPro Hero 9, allowing for a variety of perspectives and dynamic storytelling. I also used LED lighting with softboxes to create dramatic lighting of the staff recounting the difficulty of the task. The completed film was recognised nationally, earning a Silver Medal in the DefenceLife National Video Competition.
