Birds of Bundaberg

Christmas 2023

At Christmas I had the opportunity to travel to Moores Park Beach just north of the township of Bundaberg. It’s a bit of a heaven for all sorts of birds and a few animals as well. Right next to Moores Park Beach is a lagoon that is home to Egrets, Cattle Egrets, Royal Spoon Bills, White Ibis and many more species. If you are very lucky you can find a flock of Red-Tailed Black Cockatoos. The Bundaberg Botanical Gardens is yet another heaven and will worth the visit as its very popular for water birds such as the Cormorants.
